Versatile Creamy Caramelised Onion Mashed Potato
We love a side dish at Simply Delicious, but we don’t think it not being the centre of attention means that it should have any less flavour. That’s why we recommend always using our cream cheese as a way to add balanced flavour into your dishes.
The Caramelised onion cream cheese should be added to the after the first round of mashing is down and when it is slightly cooled to make sure the cream cheese doesn’t melt.
Make sure to pair this dish with a good source of Protein, otherwise you may end up eating the whole bowl!

- Prep your potatoes by cutting them in small chunks for cooking. feel free to peel potatoes if youre looking for smooth and silky mash.
- Salt water in a pan and place potatoes while the water is still cool, slowly bring your water up to a boil while the potatoes are in the water and let simmer until the potatoes are able to have a knife easily slide through it (Around 15 minutes)
- Bring potatoes back onto the hob and leave for about 1-2 minutes ot evaporate any moisture.
- Use a potatoe masher to mash potatoes (or a Sive for an extra smooth mash), once the potatoes are around half way pour in melted butter and spoon the Caramelised onion cream cheese into the mash
- Serve mashed potatoes on the side of a roasted beef or chicken for the most complimented side dish you will have
